Day 39: Close Your Eyes

Having a baby means much of your day is spent outward facing, as you feed, change, and entertain your little one. Visually, we are constantly engaged, scanning to assess needs or just drinking in the beauty of what we've created. We also have a heightened sense of protection, which means we are scanning our environment for threats to their safety. Finally, being at home more often means more time using technology for work or social purposes.
A quick hack to turn the focus inward, even for a few moments, it simply to close the eyes. Let the muscles around the eyes relax, and take stock of internal sensations. Continue to bring your awareness back to the sensation of having the eyes closed, and savor these sweet moments, whether they last a few seconds or you manage to carve our a longer period of time.
