Day 44: Get Outside

It can be tempting to spend entire days inside with new babies, especially as the weather gets cooler here in New England. However, I've done my best to get outside every day since we've been home, even on drizzly days.

This is a self preservation move, really. Both the baby and I are instantly soothed by the rustle of leaves, or bright sunshine on our faces. Sometimes we we just step out onto the back porch, and other times we ramble around the neighborhood for an hour. I especially love exploring all the local parks, some tiny pocket-sized, others sprawling with miles of trails.

Nature bathing has become a therapeutic treatment in some countries, due to its potency. So get yourself outside. Throw the kid in a puffy snow suit if you need to (added bonus: they look stupid cute in these), and soak in your surroundings. Deeply inhale the fresh air, feel the gentle breeze on your cheek, and enjoy.
